A medieval door opens up into the enchanted atmosphere of the Cloister which also houses the ancient stone well. The Cloister space, characterised by colonnades in elegant Ionic style, is the heart of the Convento San Bartolomeo and connects the outdoor spaces, namely the Orchard and the Belvedere, to the indoor spaces, such as the Chapter Hall and the Refectory. The Cloister is the perfect place to host weddings and other intimate events.
During the summer the garden area, surrounded by ancient walls, is the perfect place for an outdoor aperitif or to enjoy moments of pure relaxation under the shadow of the big walnut tree in a quiet space that maintains the flavour of the ancient “friars’ orchard”.
The garden has in fact kept its original structure. From here a small, discreet door opens directly onto the square overlooking the adjacent church.
At the back of the building, in the quiet silence of the surrounding wood, a wide space overlooks the splendid landscapes of the Valley, where the Rocca di Radicofani, also known as the Torre di Ghino di Tacco, is visible from afar. This wide space, surrounded by an orderly row of cypresses, allows Convent guests to take part in a picturesque setting, immersed in the landscape of an untainted corner of Tuscany.
