The story of the Templar Knights at the Convent seems like a boutade like so many others, an opportunity to get people talking. Yet, the legacy of history emerges decisively from the stones of the ancient Cloister and leaves one stunned, to say the least, by its mystery-rich significance. During restoration work on the ancient Cloister dating back to the 1500s, two small Templar crosses emerged as if by magic from the stones of the walls, embedded in the wall to the left of the entrance. History tells us that in correspondence with these ancient crosses there was a guesthouse for travellers resting on their way to Rome along the Via Francigena. These rooms, which among other things overlook the ancient Orto dei Frati, have maintained their charm, made up of secrets and mysteries, jealously guarded within these ancient walls. The two Templar crosses have finally come back to light to tell us an extraordinary and secret story.
