An ancient Convent in the heart of Tuscany
The San Bartolomeo Convent is a historic house situated in the medieval village of Piancastagnaio ,perched on the slopes of Mount Amiata, the largest lava dome in Tuscany.
The Ricci Barbini family took care of this precious inheritance and brought it back to its former glory in 2008.
Now guests who wish to rediscover timeless emotions and sensations can enjoy the ancient beauty of this place, as well as choosing it as the most charming and romantic location to celebrate their wedding.
The San Bartolomeo Convent is ready to welcome its guests eager to immerse themselves in the unspoilt nature of Mount Amiata, a few steps from Val D’Orcia, and the Baths of Bagni San Filippo and BagnoVignoni, giving an experience made of history, art and wellness.
Our bedrooms
Thanks to the meticulous restoration work completed in 2008, which left the original complex of the thirteenth century unchanged, San Bartolomeo Convent contains 13 unique rooms, elegantly furnished with period pieces. All the Convent bedrooms, each with its own special history, have en suite bathrooms with showers installed.
